PUTTING PEOPLE AND THE PLANET OVER PROFIT.

A small percent of a big number is still a big number!

That's why, in 2020, Buddha Wear joined 1% for the Planet, a respected global network of businesses, individuals, and civil society organizations all working to meet our planet's environmental challenges.

“We pledge to donate 1% of all our sales to fund environmental causes as part of Buddha Wear's overall commitment to being a sustainable business and a responsible steward of the environment for coming generations. We are borrowing the earth from them, after all.”

OUR PLEDGE

We currently fund iGiveTrees (https://www.igivetrees.org/), an organisation that gives trees to Brazilian smallholders who want to restore their pastures to rainforest.

BALI STREET MUMS PROJECT

We’re ending the cycle of impoverished mums, begging children and human trafficking — first in Bali, then worldwide.

OUR FABRICS

We work with the most sustainable fibres we can find, while staying true to the quality for which Buddha Wear is known. We carefully source all of our fabrics and seek to use fabrics that are manufactured in ways that are as environmentally and ethically sound as possible. We are always looking for ways to learn and do better.

Tencel

Tencel is a sustainable fabric regenerated from wood cellulose. Both absorptive and breathable, Tencel excels in temperature regulation and is also silky on the skin, with excellent breathing properties. Buddha Wear has recently started to rely more on this fabric thanks to its excellent environmental credentials and also its great wearability.

Linen

Classic, fresh linen dates back thousands of years, and is made from the fibres of the highly resilient flax plant. This natural, biodegradable material is very strong and absorbent, making it a great option for clothes made and worn in the tropics and subtropics.

Cotton

Biodegradable, durable cotton is the world's most popular material for good reason! Soft, cool to wear, absorbent, and hypoallergenic, it's another fabric ideal for wearing in warm weather, though it keeps you warm when the weather is cold, too.
