BUDDHA WEAR was founded in Bali, Indonesia in 2006. We started out producing yoga wear, but before too long requests from our customers took us one step further into making everyday wear, too.
Some things shouldn’t change though, and our original objective remains the same today: Creating great-fitting designs made from high-quality fabrics in appealing colours. We want our customers to feel as good as they look in our chic and comfy clothes.
BUDDHA WEAR has always been a socially and ethically responsible company. It is very important for us to know our staff, their faces and their families. We work hard to counteract the sweatshop mentality that is prevalent in Indonesia. Our own Wear Fair policy ensures our staff receive a fair wage with health benefits, plus subsidized meals and after-school childcare. These are simple and fair things, often taken for granted in other countries.
BUDDHA WEAR only uses materials supplied by companies whose production isn’t directly harmful to the environment. We spend considerable time seeking out certified eco-friendly companies and personally visit them to witness firsthand their manufacturing processes, and their staff conditions.
BUDDHA WEAR donates a portion of their profit to charities for the support and care of HIV positive children in Bali.
